important travel tips:

  • credit cards are widely accepted throughout the city, but BRING small peso bills ($20, $50, and $100 notes) for street food and markets .

  • Bring comfortable shoes for lots of walking.

  • pack light layers. temps should be in the mid 70s during the day, dipping down into the 50s at night + early mornings.

  • do not drink tap water; stick to bottled or filtered water, even when brushing teeth.

  • CDMX sits at over 7,200 feet. Take it easy on day one and drink plenty of water.

  • Use Uber or Didi instead of hailing street taxis for safety and clear pricing.
